For exactly one year Bennert is constructing in Rumania

On March 6th our restoration project of the "Bastion Theresia" in the Rumanian Timisoara is celebrating its annual anniversary.

But during the months after signing the agreement our construction management does not dare to say that any routine arises within the project, in the face of the enormous dimensions of the object alone. All in all currently there are working more than 50 employees on more than 25,000 m² building area.

In february, after the fort"s last occupant, a gambling casino that hired some rooms, left, we are now also able to start with the last one of five construction sections.

Up to now there were multifarious challenges for our team: Next to the common imponderabilities of reconstructing an architectural monument for us it is a daily incentive to harmonize the efficiency, quality and occupational safety of the construction site with the guidelines of a European facilitated project as well as the local peculiarities. Meanwhile, in nearly 180 days, the reconstruction works are said to be completed.

The project is co-financed by the PHARE 2004-2006 fund of the European Union. The intention of the project is to convert the fort "Bastion Theresia" into a touristic attraction.
