Veneer reconstruction at the new Justizzentrum in Gera

Since October 2008 in the center of Gera are extensive reconstruction works in progress.

Since October 2008 substantial reconstructions are in progress in the center of Gera. The Thuringian Justizzentrum is planning to consolidate its 12 headquarters of judicial authorities in Gera at the territory of the former post and telecommunications office. On the landmarked ensemble at Schlossstraße 26 we are assigned with the veneer reconstruction of two buildings.

In terms of urban planning the Schlossstraße is marking a break between the historical grown quarters and the predominant detached buildings of the recent past. Among them are several unused historical buildings as well as on the territory of the former post and telecommunications office. Since autumn 2008 ten buildings are reconstructed here for the new gathering place of Gera"s jurisdiction. There we are working on entire veneer reconstruction of two buildings.

The 19th century targets are characterized by red sandstone or rather whitish yellow limestone. Because of of the dichroism of its moldings the building of the post office with its very structured frontage is radiating a charm of historism.

Elements of the neo-renaissance particularly accent the middle projection with its decorative clock segment.

Here in the meantime the cleaning services on the more than 1100 square meters of frontage began. The second house, also in the Schlossstraße 26, presents itself in contrast almost soberly.

The wheel of time already hardly derogated the Wilhelminian style frontage. Meanwhile on the area of nearly 240 m² the stone shaping works are finished here.
